Electrolytes are a must in our modern world to add to your everyday diet.
Electrolytes are essential for health because they regulate critical bodily functions. These minerals, including sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, help balance fluid levels, support nerve function, and ensure proper muscle contraction. Electrolytes also play a vital role in maintaining the body's acid-base balance and facilitating the transfer of nutrients into cells while removing waste products. Without adequate electrolytes, our bodies cannot function optimally, leading to potential health issues such as dehydration, muscle weakness, and impaired cognitive function.
ELECTROLYTES FOR HEALERS AND CLIENTS: Electrolytes are essential for my everyday health, especially as a healer. During ceremonies, particularly when we are in a Theta brain wave state, our bodies require more minerals for our electrical systems to function properly. I always prompt my clients to take minerals and electrolytes before sessions so their bodies will provide accurate signals while I am performing intuitive body scans or clearing and moving energy in or around their bodies.
ELECTROLYES BEFORE A TEMAZCAL (SWEAT LODGE): We need electrolytes before a Temazcal ceremony, or any time we sweat excessively, even during a workout, because the intense heat and sweating can lead to significant fluid and electrolyte loss. Electrolytes, including sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, are crucial for maintaining hydration, muscle function, and overall bodily balance. Replenishing these essential minerals before the ceremony helps prevent dehydration, muscle cramps, and fatigue, ensuring that participants can fully benefit from the physical and spiritual healing aspects of the Temazcal experience. Proper electrolytes and hydration will also prevent dizzy spells and headaches after the Temazcal.
RECOMMENDATION: Drink half of your body weight in ounces daily. Include one to four glasses of electrolyte therapy a day for extra hydration. Use organic ingredients for best results.
ELECTROLYTE THERAPY RECIPE:
I liter of water (4 cups)
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 tsp honey, maple syrup, or date syrup
Juice of 4-6 lemons or limes 🍋
1/4 tsp baking soda
Add pineapple slices or mint to create unique flavor experiences
